Why Asparagus?
People ask me that question all the time!
One of my favored vegetables! I make sure is included in at least two of my meals every day…Asparagus, is a wealth of nutrients, fiber and very low sodium and calorie content.
Here are a few reasons why you should include Asparagus on your diet!
- Low in calories, only 20 per 5.3 oz. Serving, less than 4 calories per spear.
- Contains not fat or cholesterol
- Very low in sodium
- A good source of potassium
- A source of Fiber – 3 grams per 5.3 oz.
- A significant source of Vitamin B6
All I do is place the asparagus in a steamer and wait 5 to 8 minutes until they are crisp-tender they are great to eat with 5oz of Grilled chicken and ¼ sweet potato. Perfect meal for when you are trying to stay lean and tone! Don't forget that in order for you to maintain lean muscle you must take your supplements,
be consistent and dedicated to your workouts!
