Caring for Kids, Parents & Pets

When you’re responsible for someone else’s wellbeing — your child, your parents or even your “best friend” — it’s not always easy to decide what to do or whether you’re making the right decisions. We created this forum to help you get answers from experts and advice and support from fellow caregivers.

Here’s where you’ll learn from the similar challenges and experiences faced by others, and also have the opportunity to share your successful strategies for improving the health and happiness of those you love.

Thank you for the question,

I am sorry for the delay in my reply. I usually do not recommend colon cleansing for children under the age of 18. There is simply not enough research on that age group for me to recommend for or against colon cleansing. The most important questions are if they have any gastrointestinal problems and are eating a healthy diet.  If they are not having any problems and are eating relatively healthy, they should be fine. Encourage proper eating habits, plenty of fiber and water. A daily multivitamin and perhaps fish oil supplement would be a good idea as well. I hope this helps!
