Hi there stinger,I certainly can relate to you as far as the allergies at an older age. I am from New Zealand, now living in Kentucky.

My allergies started in my late 50s also, mostly affecting my skin, rashes etc.I also get the blocked nasal passage, shocking headaches.I ended up going to a Specialist, but be very careful with Allergy meds, they can be very nasty, the first meds I got from my Specialist after a few months of taking I ended up in the Emergency with a very high Blood Pressure(211) and heart palpations.

I have only just started a different med and so far so good, but I am going to be starting the needle therapy, where twice a week they inject what I am allergic to in tiny quanities at a time until it builds up,I much prefer this than taking meds.

I am lucky I have a friend in Australia who send me Eucalyptus,I use this on my tissue, add also to a bowl boiled water and inhale.
I also have a Nettie pot, that might help you,get from your Health shop,I loathe taking meds, and certainly if someone can give me a Natural product to use I would be very grateful.

I think when we get older, many things change(tell me about it lol) and our PH levels are one of those changes, and allergies are all just part of it.
Getting old sux doesn't it.If you find a cure pass it on stinger.

I am in Kentucky USA,where abouts are you?
Take care,Regards,
Jacqui

A fairly recent professional study has shown broccoli sprouts to be quite effective at preventing some of the symptoms of allergies.

Heres a link to the study.

Best of luck to you.

Hi there,

My allergy symptoms were:  Extremely inflamed red eyelids, above eyebrows, scaly eyebrows and affected skin area, swollen lip and lid.  Sometimes ceiling of mouth irritation, watery eyes, running nose etc. Plus other things that I can't remember.

I orginally had to go to a doctor (natural medicine) to get this but I have also found this on the internet.

:  Quercetin/Bromelain combo 225mg/ea formula-   Take up to 8 a day in 2 divided doses as needed.

B5 (Pantothenic Acid) 500mg:  3-6 a day as needed (also good for adrenals)

Vitamin C capsules 1000mg-  Take up to 10 a day or to bowel tolerance.

So let's say after breakfast-  I would take 3 or 4 quercetin, 2-C's, 1or 2 -B5's

Because Vit C does not retain long in the body- you should take this every hour or 2 hrs as needed.  This augments the workings of the Q/B if taken at the same time.

As for myself I was desperately in need of Fish oil 3 a day.  If you are not a fish eater I would definetly recommend this as well.

And always seek to God and His Wisdom, Mercy & Grace which he so abundantly offers!!!!!!!!!

Hi Stinger,

I addition to what has been shared I also wanted to refer you to another conversation in the message boards on this topic that you may want to refer to. How are you doing now by the way?

Thank you for all your recommendations. I'm doing much better, don't know if it's because the allergy season is over or I've just gotten over whatever was bothering me. I will look at what you've posted. Thank you again.
