I just want people to know that all things are possible. Two years ago I decided to lose weight. I was 338 pounds and extremely shy and self-conscious about my weight gain. I was very active as a teenager and played high school tennis. But, going off to college and working and being less active piled the wieght on me along with poor food choices. I realized that my body required a lot of cardio to lose weight. Cutting calories only allowed me to lose 10 pounds and then I would stop losing. I went back to what I did when I was at my optimal weight of 170 pounds and that was being very active and eating more often. I had really missed up my metabolism by not eating in a timely manner. Thus, I started eating every 2.5 hours and exercised 5 days a week doing weight training 2-3 times a week for an hours and cardio-elipicle, cycling or walking 5 days a week for an hour. I also in listed the help of a physical trainer and nutritionist and read everything I could get my hands on about nutrition and fitness.
I am a 228 pounds and want to reach my goal of 165-170. At the present time my body is 138 pounds of lean body mass. I antiscipate it will take me another 8-12 months to reach my goal. I just stepped out on faith and a lot of hard work. Being over weight is difficult and many people in society are not understanding. I was fortunate that my body responded the way it did. I still have some work to go but I know I will make it. My goal is to be below 199 on my birthday in Februrary. Wish me happy birthday. I know I have a ways to go but I have also come a long ways. Life is what we make it and what we are willing to give up to enjoy it. My life theme is Live Your Dreams (LYD)-- all dreams are obtainable if you believe and work at it. At least you will be further than where you started if you didn't try to LYD.
